There should be more chances for group viewings of the Olympics. A Portland station broadcast the opening ceremony on a screen in Pioneer Courthouse Square downtown, but I wonder how many other Olympic events would get broadcast in similarly public ways.

I'll be dipping into and out of the Olympics, because I do have some access (local NBC affiliate on my limited cable); I find the Olympics almost soothing, have since the Eighties. I like that they're happening. (I felt that way even before I had a cousin run in Athens in 2004.)
