"We're miles adrift, we're inches away..."

The way I feel this afternoon, I should not even attempt a journal entry. Yet, here I am, attempting it.

Another trip to Saunderstown yesterday. I had to read through all of Chapter Three of The Red Tree, and it was more pleasant doing it there than here.

I did manage to finish Chapter Eleven of Fraser's Dawn of the Dinosaurs: Life in the ( Read more... )

Harlan is home from surgery and doing well.

Thank you for telling me this. I've had my head up my own rectum so much....

Our local library just bought 4 MMPs of MURDER OF ANGELS.

Every book helps.

Wow that last pic is amazing! I don't know what kind of 'wooly worm' it is but it looks gorgeous there.

I assume whatever the shrew is carrying is his last meal but I don't think I have ever seen anything like it...what is it? A beetle of some kind?

Yep. It's a beetle. There were two or three kinds, actually, though that's the only one you can clearly see in the photo. I'm going to try to ID it eventually.

It is a very unusual looking beetle. At first I got a little excited thinking it might be a triop(s) but that is just because I have a little triops obsession going on right now. I tried googling it but came up empty. I guess my google-fu is weak or Google has decided I want UK results and has started slanting my search results towards UK sites.

I hope you are feeling a bit better this evening. A lot of people seem to be a little off or down physically and mentally this weekend for some reason.

Rhode Island certainly does have its beautiful spots as well as its pits.

Poor little shrew. I wonder what did it in?
