Not really much to say, except that I am less sick than I was yesterday, though not quite well. UPS just tossed a box onto the front porch, and it turned out to be my copies of Tails of Tales of Pain and Wonder (the 56-page chapbook that comes free with Tales of Pain and Wonder). I was a little troubled by Mercer's character reversal at the end. It didn't seem consistent with what he said earlier and I found it difficult to rationalize. Otherwise we thought it was a fine film. Poor Naveen Andrews, on hiatus from LOST, where he has been thrashed a few times, getting yet another thrashing.

Neil Jordan is one of my favorite directors

All I have seen by him is The Crying Game, which I very much like. Given my feelings about Angela Carter, I really have no excuse for not having seen The Company of Wolves.

There are two versions, both behind the cut. The second is my favourite.

Nope. No excuse at all. The film is uneven, but it has some spectacular moments.

Just wanted to thank everyone who mentioned Angela Carter in this post. I'd had Burning Your Boats" on my shelf for quite a while, but somehow never opened it up. Last night, though, I read "The Company of Wolves" (wow), as well as "Wolf-Alice" and "The Werewolf," all of which I thought were fantastic.
Has anyone read DREADFUL SKIN by Cherie Priest?
