I am so very, very not awake this morning. I think I managed only about six hours sleep last night, and I was already sleep deprived. Sleep depraved. Whatever. It all adds up to the same damn thing.

Well, I figure the "SD = Sirenia Digest or Strange Drama?" poll of day before yesterday has probably garnered about all the votes it's going to, and I ( Read more... )

I am a subscriber, and I voted indifferent. While "strange drama" seems to be a much simpler and easier to interperet title then "serenia digest", it leaves less to the imagination and has less abstraction present. An example is "Dry Salvages", a very simple description but using a word that isn't normally present in every day language, lending it a sense of intrigue just because it makes the average reader try to figure it out for the first moment after reading it ( ... )

For what it is worth I think Strange Drama would be a better name. It is descriptive and might attract more general readers outside of your existing fan base.

I do still like the name Sirenia Digest, but it isn't generally descriptive without explanation.

Now if you want to broaden your market-share while leveraging the synergistic meme space and buying power of the Nascar dad in a multi-level strategy sphere, you will just have to shoot me.

When the thought of changing the title first occurred to me (while I was writing a journal entry, I think), it had nothing to do with expanding the readership of the digest or making it more accessible. I've just never been terribly happy with Sirenia Digest as a title, and I sort of liked Strange Drama. That said, expanding the readership would be nice.

I don't subscribe yet - too broke, no time to read much - but I voted for the change because I just liked the title better. I like the words "sirenia" & "digest," but not together.

I was just wondering, since you enjoy the Kenneth Branagh "Henry V," what you think of his "Hamlet."
