thirty white horses on a red hill

I wrote 1,532 words yesterday, making good progress on a new piece for Sirenia Digest 14 (January '07), a story which I'm calling "Metamorphosis B." I've decided to go ahead and get everything written for 14 now, so I won't have to do it next month. Time is the only thing I can't spare. And I seem to be in the Sirenia headspace right now. So, go ( Read more... )

Good thoughts on Global Orgasm Day. Hearing about the event through you made me think there was more value in a certain something that was a fictional construct: that scene in Amelie where Amelie wonders how many orgasms are happening in Paris at that exact moment, and we quickly see all of them.

Still, I sorta kinda wanted to participate, in my own, small way, but no time. Oh well.

Have you heard Philip Glass's Metamorphosis? (It was used in the Battlestar Galactica episode, "Valley of Darkness," when Starbuck goes back to her old apartment.)

I missed Christopher Eccleston, also. David Tennant isn't a bad Doctor, but he's just too "cute" for me, and I can't really take him seriously when he's angry, because he reminds me of a cute, but very cross, little Yorkie Terrier when he's angry. Almost puntable, he's so damn cute.

I must have heard it during that ep, but not otherwise. But I will track it down, as I am rather fond of Philip Glass.

I think you said that very well.

Someone made a Philip Glass profile on myspace and added "Metamorphosis 1" to the music player. It's very similar to "Metamorphosis 5," which is what was used in BSG.

BTW, did you notice the Starbuck's painting on the wall in that episode? (I'm not sure how much BSG you've seen, so I don't want to give away any spoilers in case you haven't seen the most recent episode).

I've seen the mini-series and every ep of all three seasons. Everything.

I don't recall the painting.

The "theory" isn't any better.

Yeah, but, you know...I figured why pick nits.

They seem to be confusing the standard model Lagrangian with The Force.

Okay, you came very close to making me squirt Red Bull out my nostrils.

And why stop at human orgasms? Don't tapir orgasms count for anything?

I'm so used to all this anthropocentric crap, I just let that go, too.
