Yesterday was a good writing day. After dithering about on Tuesday, unable to decide what exactly I'd do with the rest of Sirenia Digest #6, I conceived of and began "The Black Alphabet." My inspiration comes, rather obviously, from Harlan Ellison's The Chocolate Alphabet (1978). Each letter gets 150-200 words. "The Black Alphabet" will be ( Read more... )

"The Black Alphabet." My inspiration comes, rather obviously, from Harlan Ellison's The Chocolate Alphabet. Each letter gets 150-200 words. "The Black Alphabet" will be serialized between issues #6 and #7, with #6 including letters A through M and issue #7 containing the remaining 13 letters.

This sounds really exciting. I'm looking forward to it.

An Inconvenient Truth is coming to the Crown Art Theater in Hartford, CT, which I discovered going to see Brick (which I recommend highly) there. This makes me happy. Well, as happy as I can be knowing what I know about the movie and its subject matter and how much my 90 minutes of commuting each day contributes to the problem. Which isn't very happy at all, but...

If I were to send a birthday card (and pray that by the good graces of the platypus it arrives more or less on time), would the address to which I've mailed checks for Sirenia Digest be the proper place to send it?

I'm not surprised about the Shrub story: to steal from the famed Republicans Attack! trading cards from fifteen years ago, Shrub is the sort who moves his lips while listening to the radio. (I've said it before, but I'll say it again: our Prez is a poster child for the value of an MBA degree...if the sole purpose of a school's MBA program is to give terminal party animals something to show for eight years of keggers other than a coke habit and syphilis.)

What a neat passage from "Bainbridge." I am so looking forward to getting the copy I pre-ordered of Alabaster. Dancy is my favorite character.
