Falling asleep in anger, waking in anger. And the clouds are still here, and they will be for days. Smothering. Currently, it's 61˚F.

I have nothing anyone wants to hear about the coming year.

I had in mind that I'd make a list of the novels I read this year, if I can focus long enough to do that one thing. Likely, it will be the only thing I ( Read more... )

Give Richard K. Morgan a shot. He wrote Altered Carbon among a few others. I really liked his book Thirteen!

Ah, Blackwater! I read the series because of you and it blew me away. I even got the audiobook afterwards and was so, so happy with it. I'm going to try to tackle his other work soon...Larry McMurty is still on my "To-Read" but I did hit up Elmore Leonard's "Three-Ten to Yuma" and it was like an instruction manual on how to write a brisk, gut-punch short story.
