This morning I awoke from a dream of walking through a tangled tropical jungle. Even the air seemed lush, each breath impregnated with green. I'd come upon the ruins of a once great estate, there in the middle of the wilderness. Thanks for the photos of Hallowe'en, and the glimpse into Death's Little Sister. May the open office window dispel the ache and the election madness. But not the yawning cats. Those are awesome.

I have been watching a series about Finding Hitler, if he escaped to Argentina, and they have shown this estate ... not quite that overgrown...

The whole scene was one part Charles Foster Kane's Xanadu, one part Skull Island, simultaneously beautiful, terrible, and tragic.

I'd take it over any of my nightmares lately.
