Currently, it's 81˚F in Providence, with an expected high forecast at 88˚F. The humidity is already at 62%, so I fear it may get unpleasant in here. The air may grow sultry.

and we found copies of Rombauer and Becker's The Joy of Cooking (1931, though this is a 1953 printing) and Berolzeimer's The American Woman's Cookbook (1938, though this is a 1974 printing).

I love looking at old cook books though I'm a sub-amateur cook myself. There's a nice book shop in San Diego that sells old books I think they get from estate sales and old library stock, I got my sister a nice leather-bound French cook book from the 50s a few years ago.

"The Girl Died" I enjoyed less

That episode really suffered for me because I'd been watching Vikings at around the same time. I'd like to see more episodes where the Doctor visits Earth's past but I wish they'd do a better job sometimes creating a sense of the era. I'll warn you ahead of time, though, that easily, by far, the worst episode of the season is the ninth, "Sleep No More", written by Mark Gatiss. Keep your expectations very low for that one.

My feet aside, it was a good day out, and those happen only very rarely.

I am glad to hear it.

I know that often they stand in for lost words, but I really like the pictures you have been posting lately. They make a beautiful little series themselves.
