The good news is the snow has been removed from the forecast. The bad news is spring's still nowhere in sight. Currently, it's 49˚F and rainy, no green to be seen. Tonight's low is forecast at 28˚F. And the sixties that were forecast for next week, those went away when the snow went away ( Read more... )

I finished Victor La Valle's superb The Ballad of Black Tom.

Will you write about it? I thought it was extraordinary.

I am really very ready for actual spring.

Probably not. I mean, aside from saying, "Hey, I thought that was wonderful," I'm shit at reviews, etc.

Fair enough. I am glad you thought it was superb. My mother actually heard the author interviewed on the radio-I think it must have been by NPR-and without remembering either his name or the title of the book held on to the basic concept and told me about it the next time she saw me, because she had divined correctly that it was something I would want to read.

I just finished La Valle's "Ballad of Black Tom" myself about 15 minutes ago. Brilliant in my eyes. Best wishes for warmer weather in your near future.
