There was lightning here. I watched it while the blinds banged in the wind.
In some ways, it's actually a better show than was Breaking Bad.
How so? I haven't seen either.

Yeah. I think the writers had a clearer idea of what they wanted to do with Better Call Saul from the beginning. The first season of Breaking Bad felt a bit like it was part Coen Brothers homage, part social commentary satire with things like Hank treating drug users like dirt while ironically brewing his own beer. I felt like the show evolved into more of a spaghetti western, though I guess the character Tuco was always named after Eli Wallach's character in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Despite Better Call Saul starring a comedian, there are no characters, or moments for characters, so broadly comical that they have an unrealistic lack of self-awareness compared to other people or even to themselves under other circumstances.
