Yesterday, the long-awaited announcement was posted to Facebook at 4:30 p.m. I'll repost it here:

Congratulations on the films! I never made a guess as to the secret might be but I would not have thought of books being turned into films. Wonderful news.

This is such excellent, excellent news! When you mentioned hanging out with Josh Boone at the cabin, I immediately hoped that he had snagged the rights to something, and I had my fingers crossed for The Red Tree. Now to find out that The Drowning Girl is in development as well...this has made my day. An announcement well worth the wait!
