So, turns out I actually omitted one of my favorite vampire movies off the list yesterday, Dracula's Daughter (1936). So, I'm going to repost the list, this time in chronological order, with that addition of that film:

01. Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922)
02. Drácula (1931, "the Spanish Dracula")
03. Vampyr (1932)
04. Dracula's ( Read more... )

I did a vampire film run in honor of Christopher Lee a little while ago, but seeing a few of the titles on your list is making me want to go back to that well again. Both Nosferatu films and Shadow of the Vampire would be a fun triple bill.

Re yesterday's post: I read through what there is of "Dead Letter Officer" with Kathryn, and we talked about the problems I'm having with the piece. Not what I'd call a productive day.

Your original idea for Sirenia was to give us excerpts, fragments, and other random items, but you rather quickly moved toward a short story model. I'd be perfectly happy with an incomplete story fragment, especially if it were accompanied by a paragraph or two mulling over what didn't work for you, a la your conversation with Kathryn.

And may I never have cause to quote Fangoria ever, ever again.

30 Days of Night: Dark Days was sadly a disappointment, after the first film being so primal in vampire and location.

Thank you for mentioning From the Dark. I hadn't heard of it and it turned out to be quite a treat.

Have you seen What We Do in the Shadows?
