"In the darkest part of you that you have ever seen." (Redux)

Cold and cloudy here today. Week after the bomb weather. Month after Chicxulub. Cold. But I'm refusing either sweater or space heater. Not yet. Not this soon. There's talk of eighties this weekend, some crazy breath of Saint Martin's summer after the first wave of chill. It's all a fever in New England. Wish you were here ( Read more... )

I was just thinking about re-reading The Heart of Darkness again the other day, not sure what brought it to mind, odd synchronicity I guess.

I am welcoming the return of our cool and damp darkness here.

I can almost convince myself that there was a time when weather was regularly...seasonal. The first significant downpour since the beginning of 2014 arrived several months early this morning then transformed into bright sunshine within a scant few minutes.

Wishing you the best.

In reference to the food of the South, I did not find the Crystal pepper sauce but Foodland had Trappey's brand. My daughter had never tasted it in her 25 years but that has now been remedied. She took the bottle and half of the boiled cabbage home with her that night.

Huntsville has Buffalo Rock soda now. We were given some cans but it tasted awful. I was disappointed and confused until I found out the family member had kept a case in the trunk of their car during the worst of the summer heat. I am hoping it was the extremes of heat that caused the flavor change. My memory was something else completely.

Oh Californication what a disappointment you were in the end! And no spoilers but to me nothing really got resolved. To think I paid for a season pass at iTunes.
Well at least David D is now doing that cool looking show Aquarius about a cop who chases Charlie Manson all through the 60s and Tom Kapinos is showrunning the Neil Gaiman Lucifer series. So, yeah they're both going on to projects I'm gonna watch!

I should probably re-read Heart Of Darkness, too. I have loved it every time I've read it.
