No Seroquel last night, and it was a rough night. But I saw my dreams again. Hopefully, tonight I'll be so exhausted that it'll be easier to sleep without those tiny red demons. It's a step in the right direction, now that the millstone of Cherry Bomb is no longer hung about my neck ( Read more... )

Here's a question I may get shot for: Any chance we'll see Fay Grimmer aka the killed 2nd Quinn book? I'm curious.

It was serialized last year in Sirenia Digest, but no, it will not ever be printed. There were actually two offers from small presses to buy it, both of which I turned down.

Some books are not worthy of print.

but I would like to ask you to please take a moment to vote in the 43rd annual Locus Awards.

Done.

Bill Murray's Roosevelt is a joy to watch

Cool. I'd certainly like to see more of Murray. I intend to see The Grand Budapest Hotel, that and Nymphomaniac I hope to see while they're still in theatres, I'm not sure which one is likely to disappear faster, though.

Thank you!

I'm in a good "movie place" right now. Lots of wonderful films...

Me too, it seems like a lot of good movies actually came out this past year and the beginning of this one. I remember years when there was practically nothing and what few good things there were weren't released in San Diego.

Providence and Boston tend to get hard to see films. It's just a matter of getting out of the House to see them.

Locus voting tziedel April 12 2014, 20:55:01 UTC
Re: Item #4. Locus asks people to make the effort to vote in all categories or as many as they feel comfortable voting in and not just the ones with favorite writers. They consider it ballot stuffing and discount the votes. I used to be able to afford to subscribe to Locus and they were very fussy about it the vote stuffing.

I just saw Hyde Park on Hudson the night before last! I feel similarly about it, too. Wasn't sure what to expect exactly but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Yes, I bet some people expected Bill Murray to be Bill Murray in the role and were disappointed. I thought it was refreshing.

Anyway, I voted. Good luck!

"Tuck a cloud up under my chin. Lord, blow the moon out, please."

My father used to sing that to me, as a lullaby.

Bill Murray's Roosevelt is a joy to watch, and I especially appreciated that the film was honest about Eleanor Roosevelt's lesbianism. Olivia Colman and Samuel West almost steal the show with their portrayals of Queen Elizabeth and King George VI (respectively).

Well, that sounds like something I'd like. I'll look for it.
