Putin's angry ape gestures in Crimea and your comments about the Cold War made me come over all La Vie en Rose about the early 80s. Over here on Airstrip One we were terrified about being caught in the middle of Reagan and Brezhnev's impending nuclear tennis match. But at least it gave us some of the best TV we ever had. Did Threads or Z For Zachariah ever screen in the US? A whole generation of us went to bed in tears after Threads. Great stuff.
