I've had this all-but-blinding headache since sometime yesterday. And hey copyeditor who copyedited Pink Delicious! Yeah, you. That was a COMPOUND ADJECTIVE and the words that comprise a COMPOUND ADJECTIVE are separated one from the other with HYPHENS. Do these people even go to college? High school ( Read more... )

I've been hearing lately that editors seems to be lax/missing things so the grousing about editor missing this stuff doesn't surprise me.

If the weather is still good you should take a ride down to Oakland Beach, Iggy's, One Bay Ave. Enjoy the warmth while it's still here, looks like a Tropical Storm may soak us the beginning of next week...

Well, you and Neil getting bad reviews shows you're in good company.

People giving witches a bad name. Ugh. But the likes of the country dweller have been slandered since the beginning. From within is even more irritating.

Compound adjectives are a pet peeve of mine. People miss them all the time. That, and the beloved Oxford comma.

And no, they don't teach that in high school any more. Or middle school. I've reviewed my children's work and had them insert those things in there and they've been marked down. The L.A. teacher, then, gets to hear from the witch. They don't like it when I bring in grammar books to school them.

Candied ginger between the teeth and gums. Lord, it does a headache (or toothache) good. Plus it still allows you to work.

She's not even good at being wiccan, ignoring the three fold return and the rede of 'if it do no harm, do as you will.' SLR got a triple whammy coming back to her, well earned and deserved.

"wanna be writer"

Pity if a quasi-neopagan/wiccan/xian can't at the very least put their self-banned books in the recycling bin. Guess the professed care doesn't run too deep... oh wait, there was no professed care, just vitriol. Maybe "Hateful and disgusting" should be their username rather than a "review" title?

There are always going to be a certain number of people with a needless axe to grind... those who in a convoluted way convince themselves they can have a "connection" to someone by attacking rather than befriending them. Thankfully, we have the ability to not let them be the squeaky wheel ~ to place equal (& more since I have to believe there's a higher proportion of kindness out there) focus on those who may not be amongst the self-professed "righteous" (if you have to say it...), but are quietly in their own way adding some ~actual~ goodness to the world.

You could try an ice pack on the back of the neck for the headache.

I reported the review as well, and the one she left on "Ocean at the End of the Lane."

SLR isn't even good at being wiccan, ignoring the basic rede of 'and it do no harm, do as you will,' and also missing the Three Fold Return. She has a triple whammy coming back to her, all well earned and deserved.

My mother Mamie would have said she was 'et up with it,' meaning she is eaten up w. anger and hostility and spewing it out in all kinds of inappropriate places.
