I agree. It must have been very hard for Legolas not to just run on ahead. He knew how urgent things were and yet he was held back in a way.
I guess the Elves learn patience having lived so very long. : )

Things just seem to get grimmer and darker as this chapter goes on. Poor Three Hunters!

That part must have been so very trying for all three of them. They were adjusting to a new role in things and hoping they were on the right path without the others.
