This is a really interesting story... Very believable, too.

It's probably as close as you can get to Cavil's POV while not immediately squicking people. A little kid whose parents abandon him - it does sound like the only human Cavil could ever relate to.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, indeed. :) I had a lot of fun with the parallels between Cavil and Claudius.

I found fascinating the parallels between Cavil and Claudius - the issues of parental abandonment and rage at the entire human race as a result. Since I worked with abused and neglected children (attorney with child protective services for many years) I found their limited ability to attach and their clinging to each other a little too real for comfort - I've seen real live kids like Claudius and they're wounded in ways that fester and sometimes never heal.

Well written and haunting.

Thank you! I remember wanting to destroy the world now and again, at that age, so it was interesting to imagine what might happen to a little boy (or an old-man robot) who actually had the power to do so. "Wounded in ways that fester and sometimes never heal" describes them both, I think... but it's obviously easier to relate to the kid!

Thanks again for the insightful comment, it made my day. :)
