Given what they did to Sam, I figured Lunar would be more likely to abuse poor GERTY than to hire someone for a decent wage. :( And I like the idea that Sam meant GERTY, too, when he said that "we're not programs"... Moon's themes of multiplicity and the humanity of clones and machines seemed a good fit for BSG.

I'm glad you liked my portrayal of GERTY. I didn't want to portray him as a "bad" robot, because he certainly wasn't like that in Moon... but I could see him going the way of the Cylons, perhaps, given Lunar's mistreatment. :(
