Heee! I still haven't seen it, but am gleefully reading spoilers anyway because it's not like I don't know how the story ends. Glad you enjoyed it so much!
I'm looking forward to the Four storyline, especially because I've got a Four in a major role in my big bang and I always missed the Fours. Partly because Rick Worthy is a really good actor, and partly because he's really, really hot.
But I'm glad Cavil was Cavil!!!! Really looking forward to this :)

heh, yes he is... and you are totally gonna wear out one section of the DVD. :D
The Four storyline was very cool; I really enjoyed the idea that Stabby!Cavil had to deal with Love!Four and then WhyAren'tWeKillingThemAlready!Four had to deal with Love!Cavil. That was brilliant.
I do wish that Doral had a storyline of his own, because he was beyond wonderful in this, but all the Four stuff kinda makes up for it.
I am high off The Plan crack and reading reviews. Before I start though, I have to say one thing:
I saw Doral/Simon subtext!!! Heee! Only I saw it because I'm AU like that. But poor Doral, all left out. :-)
The Caprica Cavil's story was a little better, simply because he wasn't constantly doing Secret Stuff Which Somehow No One Ever Notices. Heee! Yeah, somehow no one of importance ever notices him or Hooker!Six. (And Tricia's striking, I don't see how anyone could ever miss her.)
I kinda had to put the remote down and brush a little organic substrate outta my gelatinous orbs for a second). Aww! So much Cavil! I thought about you a lot of the time while watching. Weren't they cute holding hands? I thought they were cute.
I'm glad you were happy with it. :-) I like reading the posts about it. It's nice to see some fans get what they want for a change.
(I owe you an e-mail. Sorry, I have had computer issues, and you may not need a response at this point. But I want to reread it again, anyway. Especially after this!!!)

I really wanted a Doral sub-plot... he was so wonderful in this. I'd have liked to see him fail to fall in love with a human, actually. :)

That particular Six doesn't look much like Shelley Godfrey, at least, so I can sort of see it in her case. But yeah, the idea that Cavil has all these impromptu secret meetings in the battlestar chapel is kind of ridiculous. I, um, thought the season 1/2 Colonials were rather devout... isn't he busy pretending to be human? And isn't he awful at it? You'd think The Worst Priest Ever would be an obvious source of suspicion...
Also, I continue to lol at the extent to which their "polytheism" is just Catholicism sent through a cursory search-and-replace. Myopic much, writers?

Latest reply ever, but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading this review. I was quite nervous about this movie because I feared they'd try to...well, I dunno what, but do retrospective weird things to everyone.
AND YET. Somehow it came through. I mean, I still feel like it wasn't really a movie so much as a collection of deleted scenes, but dude. The Cavil they "redeemed" was still antihumanist. He wasn't won over by wanting to be human, just by the impossibility of stopping others form wanting that. Which does a lot for my ability to still love him in No Exit. Even if I still wish 4.5 had never happened.

Thank you! And yeah, I was worried, too. I had negative expectations for this, which made its awesomeness even more of a welcome surprise. :)

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up for me, in a nutshell. The Cavil/Cavil plotline (heh) is surprisingly deep -- you've got one Cavil who learns about love, but doesn't abandon his principles for it... but you've got another who learns only about betrayal, and thus leaps to the conclusion that the first Cavil wants him to abandon his principles. It's neat
