five meditations

The cherry blossoms, now past their peak, are falling, drifting the ground with floes of white-pink. I visited Ninna-ji and walked the base of the Path of Philosophy to see them last weekend, taking pictures as I went. They were beautiful, forthy and festive on the branches, like bursting, fagile nebula when they eclipsed the sun. But even as I ( Read more... )

I think it's amazing that there's something so brief and beautiful that the entire nation stops to enjoy. It's incredible seeing a country united through nature.

I'm also delighted that I was finally able to experience hanami with English-speakers for once XD

Reading this piece just makes me feel peaceful.

I can think of no other country in the world where the blooming of a flower is so important that it gives shape to the entire year. It's just incredible.

Japan on global warming: YOU MEAN IT WILL EFFECT THE BLOOMING OF THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS? OMG SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!!!

No, I don't mind at all. :-) Anyone is welcome, both to read and to post. Although, um. There's nothing either Shinsengumi or Kanda around here, I'm afraid. The interest in DGM is a recent one, the interest in the Shinsengumi long-standing but generally not highly impacting.

I . . . actually haven't watched Peacemaker, or rather have only watched one or two random episodes, which I hardly remember. It was ages ago. ::excuses, excuses:: My anime/manga Shinsengumi references are Kenshin, Kaze Hikaru, umm this other manga who's name I forget, and sporadic research and reading on my own. Find them rather fascinating, I do. Kanda would fit right in. ;-D

Lol, yeah... Rurouni Kenshin shinsengumi = love. I watched the Spanish version when I was little, and I remember I thought it was soo cool that there was a girl in the group, especially one who looked like she could kick butt, even if she was sick XD They used a female voice actress for Souji in the latin american version. I find that hilarious ( ... )
