It is good manners to let someone know something will *contain* a pairing or het and/or slash, but it isn't a *warning*. It shouldn't be like "Oh, you may find gayness / heterosexuality / naked women / something other than your personal OTP squicky or morally offensive".

Yeah. Label that shit for pairing and slash/het, but WARNINGS are for stuff like rape and piss fetish and violence. The idea of warning for het seems... indicitive of shit I don't like

I could understand if it was a pairing that would squick a lot of people, like Klaus/James, or Joxer/Anyone. But Spock/Uhura? That's a classic pairing!

For the movie, it's frigging canon. How do you warn for canon?

As to the canon, yes. It would be like writing Eroica fic and warning "This story contains Dorian crushing on Klaus"

NO kidding, genius.

... oh, you have to be kidding me. Seriously, people, it's frakkin' canon if you're talking about the new movie, and it's not exactly completely out of the blue for TOS. What's next, "Warning: this story contains Klingons?" :-/

Also, uh, hi? *tentatively waves* I'll go back to quietly lurking now.

Hi! No lurking needed! As long as you don't troll the other commenters, (not that you would, just that's the only way people get booted) you're totally welcome here!

I *know*! I was like "You. Did. NOT!?!?!"

But oh yes she did.

A pox on her fictional houses.

Sometimes I laugh at "het warnings," and sometimes I am annoyed. If they're posted in earnest, though, that's bullshit.
