I just watched the new one, finally, and of all that happened in it -- and that was a LOT, ahem -- I'm stuck on what's his nameiel calling Castiel Sam's "boyfriend."
I AM VEXED. CAS IS DEAN'S NON-GENDERED BOYFRIEND. NOT SAM'S. ESPECIALLY NOT THIS SAM.
That was one of those times that I was actually CONVINCED the writers were just throwing stuff in to IRK me, personally. Or, you know, me and people like me. Like you. :)
Good point about the emphasis on the natural order - it isn't something they have talked about for a while but has been left bubbling under the surface while they dealt with the apocalypse and all, so it makes sense to revisit it now. On purgatory/limbo - I don't think Ellen and Jo would be there. Their deaths (and lives) were pretty good ones, their deaths especially were heroic and I'm pretty sure would have been rewarded with heaven (though to be honest I am not struck on SPN's version of heaven as being that much better than limbo really, but am clinging to the hope that it was so sucky thanks to Zach...). However, John and Mary are more problematic having both made deals with demons, so yeah, I can see them both being in Purgatory. I bet the show would do anything to get JDM back for an episode or two! Your end game scenario would be heartbreaking - but cynically it would only happen if there was no season 7, or Jensen wanted to move on to other things...
That's really where I thought they were going with the Samuel Campbell storyline - that Deanna (remember - MRS Samuel?) and Mary are trapped in Purgatory (sorry to nit pick, but it wasn't Limbo). I was really disappointed with the LAAAAAAAMMME and borderline creepy "I want Mary back" thing.
