Hello my dear Bibi, and thanks for this opportunity, that now I am here and can read your entrees. Bibi, somehow, I cannot find how to enter onto your page and read more :( (I know I probabaly sound stupid), but how do I do it...I am so interested to read more. Love Nadia
Hi, I saw your post in the linguaphiles and when I checked out your profile (out of curiosity), I noticed we had quite a few things in common (plus two friends in common :)) If you're interested - well, I'm ready to meet a new friend. If you're not interested, I won't be offended. ;)
Hey, I've just added you! Looking forward to getting to know you! My journal is not the most exiting, though, but I hope it will say something about me! :D
This is sort of awkward, but I have a technical question for you. Yes, I don't know you, I'm sorry if this is strange, but I'll explain! See, I'm Nad's friend (the one you were a witness at her wedding for ;)) and I was showing some pictures of mine on my journal and there was one which I thought would look good in black and white and then with one object in colour (I can show you), but I don't know how to do it. She said you sent her one of her wedding pictures edited exactly like that and that I may contact you to ask how you went about getting the picture to look like that. I use Photoshop btw. I hope I'm not being too impolite with this question -there's no rush also, it's just a skill I'd like to own for future reference. I wish you a fantabulous 2008, may all of your wishes come true!!!! Hugs! :)
Oops, how embarassing. I use Paint Shop Pro. But no matter what you use, I'm sure that there's equivalent functions in all of these graphic programs which I could find by experimenting around a bit. :)
Well, here I am again. Sorry it's taken me so long, I don't have internet at my flat in Tallinn (I recently moved)... anyway... I am not sure this works for Paint Shop Pro because I use Photoshop but this is what I do:
1. open the photo 2. duplicate layer (make an extra layer of the photo so to speak...) 3. make this new layer black and white (I use the saturation tool, but I am sure there are other ways and I am also sure you know how to make it black and white :) 4. click on the eraser tool 5. and just move the eraser tool over the parts you want to bring back to colour - it sort of "erases" the black and white layer. And that's basically it. I hope it helped. I have no idea how Paint Shop Pro looks like... but I assume it's quite similar... Good luck and let me know if it did work out. PS: I usually make the photo very big when doing this because it's easier to get all the lines right, do it by pixel so to speak.
Hey thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Unfortunately it didn't work for me just yet (even though PS has all the functions you speak about), but I'll sit down with my bf some time and with this guide I'm sure we can figure out what I did wrong. I hope you are enjoying your new flat! Love to Talinn! :)
