From ultran_ego.

1. Do you believe in a higher power(s)? If so why?Not really. I suppose I'm not opposed to such a belief, in theory, but it seems unlikely that I'll change my mind at this point. I think I've heard at least the general outline of most of the arguments for religious belief, and the most convincing ones to me boil down to "I just feel that ( Read more... )

Maybe it's because I no longer live in atlanta, but I have n't heard this conversation from you. Personally, I thought Reloaded was the best of the trilogy. I thought they were about to go somewhere brilliant with the series but the 3rd one was so disapointing... that I haven't watched any one of the movies since I saw Revolutions in the theatre...

oh well I digress..

Next time I'm in Atlanta lets have a cider and discuss Reloaded. I'd love to chat with someone else that doesn't think it's garbage.

I knew I sensed a kindred spirit in him. We should all three of us get together and chat about the much maligned jewel of the trilogy.

You're so wrong about Revolutions, of course, but I'm used to you being wrong about stuff. :)

Oh, no, I'm gonna have to go with Hue on this one. I think we can all agree that Reloaded was obviously the apex but Revolutions was a let-down for me. Even having watched it a half-dozen times, there are still a lot of things I'm having to make up my own explanations for - mainly Neo's "real world" superpowers and blind sight. I think I follow the Architect dialogue and Machine/Zion/Matrix relationship at this point, though I'd definitely be interested in hearing other interpretations.

The Neo real-world mystic powers is a key to the entire series. It's an interconnectedness-of-all-things kind of thing. It directly ties into the One, and touches on the Oracle's foresight, the Architect's dialogue, the question of identity and self, Morpheus' "what is reality" speech in the Construct, artificial intelligence, and the nature and purpose of the Matrix itself.

Of course, I'm coming from a perspective that not everyone shares. I figured out something about the Matrix that was never directly revealed in any of the movies - something I realized shortly after I saw the first movie.

When Morpheus told Neo that the machines needed the humans as a power source, his explanation obviously violated basic laws of thermodynamics. At first I handwaved it away as part of the suspension of disbelief. Later I saw (in part thanks to a discussion with Daecon) that it wasn't simply bad science on the part of the moviemakers... Morpheus was wrong. But the Zionites didn't know they were wrong - it was just another lie they had ( ... )

Nope doesn't get on nerves, I'm usually the one that bring it up so...:)

Chinchillas would probably be good, if you got tired of it you could make a nice coat... assuming you have 30 or so.

Good point on the chinchillas. Except that I'd have to have 30 of them first. Well, that could be sort of fun - I could just lie down in the cage and take a chinchilla bath!

1. How do you feel about being a father? How has that changed (if at all) since Gabrielle was born?

2. What kinds of things do you find offensive?

3. What are your spiritual/religious beliefs? More interestingly, why?

4. What do you miss most from your time in the military? What do you miss least?

5. You've been unplugged from the Matrix, and are now being re-inserted as an ass-kicking, name-taking, kung-fu-knowing member of the Resistance. What does your stylish new outfit look like?

Oh, man. Oh, man. I so win. It's not even funny. I have 9 bug bites... on one ankle. Bleargh! Sean eventually came to my rescue with the Off (which worked fairly well for me, actually), but I was already a goner by then. I spent the rest of the evening sort of dizzy and sickly, which is what happens when I get bitten by a frickin' swarm of goddamn bloodsucking insects. Great out doors. Right.

Suzanne says "I have one bug bite!" This is probably how spousal abuse gets started.
