The super splendid (and, if I may say so, the rather beautiful) ladywillin has CUSTOM MADE me a new header. It is a LostAlone header (skewed towards my favourite members/ex member, ahem) & therefore I have been spending my evening twiddling with colour codes. I may fiddle further, but for the time being

Looks great! Re white bars - perhaps header space in your new style is wider than your pretty new header? If you have a graphics program, you could copy your header pic into a wider document (frame/canvas) and fill the extra space with your background color. Kluge-y, yes, but might work.

I did have a try with that idea, but it strangely made it even smaller with a complete white border!! Aiii.

Very nice though I do miss Will & Allan...

Does the css code include an image size? I increased the width on an image on one comm site on LJ to get rid of a little bit of white space.

I raised a toast to Will & Allan before pressing the 'save changes' button. Much as I adore that banner, it only served to remind me how good that scene was, and all that abandonment of Will to pigeon fancying came after! And on the offchance Harry ever passes through this journal, I want him to know that I know his career has moved on :D

Ah, yes. The code does include width - I was worried it would change the ratio of the whole banner, but I will have a play, cheers, love!

Woop! First of all I twiddled with the width to great success - and then found the background colour code in the CSS, which was easy to set to black, meaning I could get the more balanced width. Hooray!

I was commenting to Ladywillin how I love my new banner anyway, but I love the way everyone has chipped in to make the use of it perfect!

Your thing of not knowing how to change back reminds me of the comedian Jack Dee's routine about changing his mobile phone's default language to Japanese for fun - & then realising he had no way of following the steps in Japanese for getting it back to normal... or using any of the functions!
