You know, I've been laughing pretty much throughout this last arc of GREEN LANTERN. Occasionally because something was actually funny, but mainly because it was laugh at it all or break down crying...and I suspect I'm going to be doing that soon enough anyway.

And then there's GL #180 )

What do you know. I feel the same way.

Dear God. Shock Value, particularly in GL, particularly for Kyle, is getting very, very old.

I really have more to say, but I just read it and I'm still sitting here in a daze.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Ron Marz has spent all this time lamenting that he couldn't do what he wanted to do in Emerald Twilight. If this is in line with what he wanted to do to Hal...

I want a world where GL stopped around 153. Maybe 155 if I'm feeling generous.

and what he doubtless thinks of as elegant full-circle parallelism comes off as bloodthirsty, unimaginative, unbelievably tasteless, horribly contrived crap. Jesus.

When I read it, I thought, "I have no words." But, you know, the word *you* used-- they work for me.

Seriously... How? Why? WHAT were they thinking!?

yeah. Still no words.

God. I feel for you.

Given my lesser degree of both Kyle sensitivity and Marz sensitivity, I'm still in the "laughing hysterically" stage on this, but this is just--it's really hard to imagine how he could have been more insensitive and unfortunate, although he probably couldn't have known how ill-timed this was wrt Identity Crisis...Though I suppose it's nice of him to remind us where the term "Women in Refrigerators" came from, and who was responsible...

Some people never learn.

But hey, it was a different kitchen applience this time!

*headdesk*

On another note--do we know why and how Major Force is alive still/again? Or is it a different Major Force? 'Cause I just read the issue where Guy kills him, and even if it was mentioned earlier in the current storyline, I may not have picked up on it?

Major Force also died in Batman/Superman [or Superman/Batman] #4 or 5. He went kaboom in the middle of Tokyo and I'm pretty sure his energy was absorbed by Captain Atom. And honestly, I don't see Kyle giving up the ring no matter what. No matter how crappy his life's been recently. I don't think anything short of him dying would do it. Let him go off into space, train new GLs in an anthology book or something. I really don't want to see Kyle leave or die. Of course, I really don't want to see Hal come back either.
