...oh, lord, now I'm buying old Flash issues. Which, yes, okay, rabid fangirl there anyway, but I had an agreement with myself that it was a post-Crisis thing. Ooops. *glares at Ebay*

Of course, this does mean that if I ever write that Barry/Hal I will have some faintest idea what I'm talking about...

comics, flash

And suddenly my icon has even more relevance. :) No, this is a six-issue lot covering Iris's murder and the issues before and after. I have sworn to wait until the issues have arrived, I have read them, and I have decided that I like them before I get any more. Okay, so I also swore that I wasn't going to buy Barry Allen issues in the first place, but I've really been spending too much money on back issues lately, so I mean it this time. Honest.

The description does tempt, though.

Is that a promise that we can look forward to some Barry/Hal? ;)

I have to try to stay away from online places to get comics, because just giving them your credit card number and be able to click on shiny comics that then soon will be brought to you? It's just too easy. :D

Never any promises, although there is a theoretical scenario and a couple of lines. And I even sat down and worked out that yes, the timing of it might actually work, although it's a little tight. (Yes, yes, obsessive continuity-obsessed geek, I know...)

It's just too easy.

Oh yes indeedy. I'm not going to stop going to Milehigh or Ebay, because where else am I going to find a lot of this stuff?--but they're dangerous, dangerous places. *reminds self repeatedly that I do not need Silver Age JLA issues. At least not right now.*

Hey, what's a few (tens, hundreds of) dollars spent on comics when there's the possiblity of *Barry/Hal*?

(And there did seem to be an opening, round about the last issue of the Brave and Bold mini...assuming Barry managed to get over Iris a *little* more before he died...)

Enabler. *g*

Precisely the story I had in mind, yes. Whether Barry got over Iris before he died is a somewhat complicated question, but as he almost remarried later, he was certainly available. The catch is that there's only about a five-issue period between Iris's death and Hal getting back together with Carol, and that may not be long enough. (Yes, I know, nobody cares. Or would even *notice*, for that matter...)

...and now I have done a little more research, and it looks like there's considerably more slack than I was thinking--specifically, the issue that seems to mark Barry moving on (I don't know if this is actually where he moves into his singles community, I'm going by covers here, but I assume it was around that time) takes place one month before Hal and Carol's relationship starts to thaw. They may not even have gotten together quite yet. (Must not buy issue. Must not buy issue. Even if it's got a cool cover and Star Sapphire...) And I know I'm obsessing over details, but I'm like that. And there are times like this when it just works for you, and it's just so cool to watch it slot in place like that....

You know, it's just a little Barry-Hal...I mean, how bad could that be? There's so much good material for it too. *nods sagely*

Did you see the issue where Barry has to recharge Hal's ring 'cause ol' Hally boy is fading away?

I'm a little surprised at the apparent audience for Barry/Hal. But not, I hasten to add, at all displeased. ;)

No, that particular bit of weirdness doesn't sound familiar--do you know where it was?

There, even a nice pic of the cover. Well, there's always an audience for just about everything. Uh, well yeah. And stuff. Besides, we all know that all superheroes used to be gay. Why else would Batman have this, and I quote, in a thought bubble:

"I'll have to risk it all on a cunning judo hold."

Ah, such antics when the JLA go up against the CSA...heh.
