Squee!

In other news, I got my driver's license today! Double squee!

EDIT: A more informative articleSo they'll be going with Davies' NA, but someone else will be doing MP3 and S&S3. I can live with that. Even if Davies does take NA more seriously than it was intended, at least it should be a serious treatment of the novel ( Read more... )

Whoa! A driver's licence! :D Congratulations!

I'm not sure about more adaptations, though. Well. . . I might be able to see more hot British male actors in costumes. . . :P

More adaptations are always good by me. Especially NA, which really needs a decent adaptation. Even an indifferent one would be nice, as long as they keep Henry the way he's supposed to be.

I wonder what is meant by "the absolute cream of British acting talent," though. Not Orlando Bloom, surely? Or Pierce Brosnan? More like, I dunno, Ewan McGregor, maybe? Maybe they just mean casting Judi Dench as all the older females..... Can you imagine Dame Judi as Mrs. Allen? *giggle*

I agree with Northanger Abbey. But I'm not sure about Mansfield Park. There's always a danger of making Mansfield Park looks like a novel written by George Elliot. Jane Austen was too far ahead of her time when she wrote about that novel, in my opinion.

I've heard that Orlando Bloom was asked to audition for the Darcy role in P&P3. Thanks God that he didn't play that. . .

Would've been funny, though, after the fracas with the Hello polls. *ahem*

As for MP3 (hee!), I'm hoping the new adaptation can finally cleanse my system of MP2.

I hope Andrew Davies doesn't write the screenplays, though -- from what I've read about him, he doesn't seem to "get" people like Edmund and Fanny, and God knows what he'd make of Henry and Catherine. S&S looks iffy just because he's helming it; I don't think he'll get Elinor, either. I can deal with S&S, though, because I'll still have S&S2 to fall back on. But we so rarely get a chance for MP or NA, I'd hate to see him screw them up.
