I have lots to post, about my parents' visit and our roadtrip to Alberta, and Joss Whedon and probably a dozen other things if I'm basing myself on the tabs I currently have open in Firefox. Thanks for the links. Your coding is not working for some reason.

I get really annoyed when I see privileged people say how persecuted they are and completely ignoring their privilege. RN I'm specifically thinking about a recent Daily Show interview, where a white cisgender abled male was whining about how Christians are persecuted in the US. Boohoo.

So... Shooting a kid holding a can of soda and some Skittles is ok, but getting scissors out of your bag because you've been insulted, threatened, armed and chased is not ok? What kind of absurd system is it?

Speaking as someone who has a (white, privileged, etc) family member who is currently dealing with our court/prison system, and getting CONSTANTLY DICKED AROUND - you are correct in stating our system could use some work. And just seeing what he is dealing with, with the support network he has, makes me cringe to think of those less fortunate also dealing with the utter nonsense. It's not the worst in the world by a long shot but holy hell still no excuse.

That said...here's a positive transgender/legal system story I figured I'd share to brighten up your day: http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_20558437/danyel-joffe-never-gave-up-years-fighting-free
