First of all, they're in the bathroom - so it's a small room where they don't get bothered too much. It's better for them not to have too much space at first since scared kittens will scramble in random places and it's hard to get them out afterwards (and traumatizing for them). Plus since this is MeiMei's home. that gives her time to adjust, too, she can smell them through the door and when I take one out, but she doesn't suddenly have her house overrun by unknown kittens

Interesting. I've read a booklet aimed at shelters, on how to calm dogs and feral cats. Even though I'm allergic to cats and will probably never have one, I'm curious about cat behaviour and training. Hell, the book I'm reading right now is making me intrigued about how much an octopus can learn!
I know I'm annoying everybody in real life, because I can't stop talking about dogs, positive reinforcement and clicker training, but if you're interested in teaching your (foster) cats a few things, you can check out this website. Don't believe anyone who tells you cats can't be trained! Further reading here and in Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor.
I would love to do this with a puppy, but it requires more space, I would assume :)Puppies requires a lot mental and physical stimulation, but that doesn't have to mean a big house or a garden (if you take them out and play with them often enough). However puppies are probably more time-consuming than kittens. I'm guessing one reason for that is dogs tend to go to a lot more places/meet more

Oh, it was just the site that I normally use didn't have it up yet. My friend gave me another site to download them from, so I'll probably watch them tonight.

(I totally had a dream about Rupesh last night, that's what happen when you wait to see the episode just before going to bed)
It's nice to hear about the blackwhite kitten :)
