Thanks for a good and extremely in-character story. (And Grissom would have refused to participate in a truly supernatural case, of course.)
It was fun seeing Sam faced with the lure of the rationalizations that he knows are too often false. He wants the world where logic can take you all the way.

Hah, your author's note does sound exactly like Grissom!
There's a continuity error between 1972 or 1973 being the earliest case Sam finds in the files.
