So for some of my blog readers, it is already 2008. But over here in California we are still hanging onto old worn out 2007, which means I still legally have a little less than two hours to do my usual year in review blog entry.
So here we go.
2007, I can genuinely say I loved you. We had a lot of fun together, we argued, we cried, and we had a lot of victories. Here are my dweeby reflections and not always so deep thoughts for anyone wanting a read:
Three Things I Am Proud Of:
1) In 2007, I truly worked by butt off. This was quite possibly the busiest year of my life, and I've never felt more fulfilled and happy before. I am proud of my ambition. I am proud of my lack of sleep. Is that silly? Oh probably. But burning the candle at both ends really provided me so many memories, achievements, and lessons truly learned.
2) I learned to not be so afraid. This was the year I stopped caring what people think about me. This was the year I took a leap of faith and trusted God to catch me. I wasn't disappointed.
3) My little sister. This is obviously not my achievement, but I have to gush and say how proud I am of Becky's. She has blazed her own trail this year in Santa Cruz, and she's overcome....our family. She hasn't been affected by the poison. She is fantastic. She is an incredible young woman and I am really honored to know her! I love you, Reckabeck.
Three Favorite Memories:
1) Our spring dance show. Alice was so much fun, and it was an equal blessing getting to both teach it and perform in it!
2) The 4th of July party the missionaries threw for us when we were in the Southern Caribbean for the holiday. It was so cute and fun!
3) Our housewarming party. So many people came over to bless our new home! It was such a fun and blessed day.
Three Things God Taught Me:
1) There IS such a thing as unconditional love, and a father whose heart leaps for joy over knowing you.
2) Everyone has a gift. Many of us unfortunately allow fear to get in the way of us using it
3) You will never be left in the ashes.
Three Hopes (NOT resolutions!) for 2008:
1) A published book (it's still fun to write articles though)
2) An addition to our family (but that is totally up to God)
3) Opportunities to reach out and better lives (this is the ultimate)
10 Things I Wish I Could Say To Various People But Probably Never Will:
1) Thank you for the ways you changed my life, and I am pretty sure you have no idea how often I think of how lucky I was to have you in it.
2) Stop waiting to be rescued, honey. Your Savior has been standing near you tirelessly with open arms. Rescue has come.
3) I am grateful every single day for your friendship, your compassion, and your loyalty. I love you.
4) Your lack of forgiveness has forever changed me. You have caused irreversible damage. And yet I feel sorry for you still.
5) You are beautiful and have so much to offer others. Now please believe in yourself.
6) You make me laugh like no one else can. How can I thank you?
7) I promise to pray for you on days that aren't even Wednesdays.
8) We all know you are faking it.
9) I want to learn everything I can from you. You've truly become a role model and hero. Do you even realize?
10) If wishes were fishes, I'd know where I'd be (in a heartbeat.)
