Thank you! I've got more Dare fanon I want to explore in a post-MoA fic with Rachel and the Romans, but I really want to finish DD first since that one would probably be a smaller multi-part fic too.

I absolutely love this. Especially like how Warren Dare was portrayed as a father who genuinely cared for his daughter but was forced to be distant and cold due to his incredible love for his daughter. I honestly can't say that the Warren Dare of RR's books even gave the impression. Sure, he loved Rachel, like every parent would but I can't assume his lack of care is for a greater reason.

Loved the last bit too. Sneakily slipping in some Raico I see. No complaints here.

Although one bit that threw me off a little was this:

Olivia and Warren Dare had been young, arrogant, and foolish when they’d struck that deal with the gods, only thinking of themselves.

It's just that for the first half of the chapter, though it's a third person narrative it seems very Rachel-point-of-view-ish. Then it suddenly changes and seems more omniscient narrative-ish. I think it might be just me though. After reading it a few more times it flows more naturally but that was my initial reaction.
