Saw this somewhere, and thought it'd be fun.

Ask me a question about one of my stories or my approach to writing in general. It can be absolutely anything in any fic and I will tell you the honest-to-god answer. Don’t hold back. Anything. Whatever you ask, I will try my best to answer.

What does it take for a pairing to grab you enough to write fic?

I usually go for canon pairings, ones that have that kind of frustrating will they/won't they vibe to it and with a good bantering relationship on the side. If they can't banter together, I don't want 'em! I tend to not write fic if I feel like the original source material has done a good enough job explaining the pairing or wrapping up the storyline, unless there's a certain aspect of their relationship or moment I want to explore.

So the one that's do grab me are (obviously) the opposite, the ones I want to know more about that I know the source material probably won't give me or does a really bad job presenting the way I see the pairing as. Or if I just think there's more to the story after it all ends.

What first sparked your interest in writing? Or, more specifically, in writing fanfic?

Stereotypical questions, I ask them.

Stereotypical answers, I have them.

I really wanted to start writing after I read Harry Potter in the fifth grade. It got me more interested in books and stories than anything had in a very long time. Around the same time, we got Cartoon Network at my house and I re-discovered the TV show love of my childhood, Sailor Moon. I started writing stories about Sailor Moon before I even knew what fan fic was - I just wanted to keep the stories going. Imagine my delight several months later when I typed in "Sailor Moon stories" into Yahoo and found my first fan fiction sites...

Writing fic made me different from my other classmates, I guess, which is why it attracted me more than writing originally. And then I got good at writing, so I just kept doing it.

Do you mentally sort of write everything within the same fanon?

Also, how totally freakin weird was it to start writing smut?

I think it all depends on how much fic I've written for a series? I've got all sorts of different fanon ideas for PJO, although most of it is pretty consistent. It's usually the future "what will they be doing in 10 years" sort of stuff that changes the most often 'cause I get better ideas.

TOTALLY FREAKIN' WEIRD. I pretty much had zero experience, even with kissing, when I started writing smut, so I'd copy some descriptive passages from my mom's romance novels or from my Sweet Valley Twins books, or at least try to imitate the style of those sorts of scenes. That's still kind of what I do, although I've developed a lot more of my own style now. But if in doubt, go to the books!

Do you think you'll ever write your own original novel?

I've tried! But yeah, it is a career goal at some point. I just haven't had the time or inspiration to really write anything original recently.
