German police recently found a drunk owl out in public and took in the animal, saying it would be released once it has sobered up

...What even. Is it even illegal for wild animals to get drunk? Are they aware that they have to follow our laws, and that they'll be arrested if they don't?

And is it possible that the owl was diseased, and there had been a drunk person sitting next to it? Because that seems more likely to me.

But still. Definitely the funniest thing I've read all day.
