I think the question we should be thinking about is: is he even referring to Percy? It might be some new son of Neptune that was fathered by the Neptune persona instead of Poseidon. Don't get me wrong, I am seriously hoping it's Percy! But maybe it's a not.

I honestly don't think he'd go and create another son of Poseidon. His fans would kill him.

The son of Neptune has got to be Percy. He's at a Roman camp, remember. He's the son of Neptune now, not the son of Poseidon. This is supposed to be a gathering of the most powerful demigods. Percy is obviously a very powerful one. As is Annabeth, and she is going along to save him so hopefully that's a way of including them in the seven. The other three can be Roman for all I care, though Nico would be cool. Anyway, yea. Pretty sure this is Percy. We've heard about Jason's trials at CHB, now we're going to hear about Percy's, the other leader exchanged. Or at least, that's the hope.

Considering Riordan said Nico would be playing a major role in this series, my guess is he'll be one of the seven. I really want to see him, Percy and Annabeth all included, but whether that will happen with all three...who knows |:

And yes, this is what I want as well D:

I definitely want Nico included somehow. You'd think all of the Big Three kids would be, being the most powerful and all. Plus, they're going to need Nico for the Doors of Death thing. Thinking about it now, it seems like Riordan was leading up Nico and Percy being included in the seven when he eliminated all other competition for them. First there was the pact so there would only be a few powerful Big Three kids to choose from, then Bianca's death and Thalia going Hunter, etc.

And if Percy is one of the seven then you know Annabeth has to be one of them too because there's no way she'd let Percy go off on a super dangerous quest without her.

I've just reread all the books, so it would be fresh in my mind for the Lost Hero. Is it worth getting? And...I still don't get why he made the Ares kids not get along with the Athena kids.

War and Battle Strategy. Go along like PB&J. Difference between "strategy" and "tactic": strategy is "we got to get up to the top of the mountain, these are possible options for getting it done" tactic is "getting up the damn mountain/executing the strategy"

That's one of the many things that bugged me about his writing. It's like...use logic...PLEASE???

Yes, The Lost Hero is worth getting. It's frustrating because the characters from the first series aren't in it as much as we thought they'd be, but it's still a great addition to the series.

The Ares and Athena cabin team up quite a bit in Capture the Flag, if I remember correctly. I think the personalities of the two cabins clash outside of that though because the Athena kids are stoic and logical and the Ares cabin just wants to pick a fight all the time. Annabeth gets along with Clarisse eventually; she just doesn't like her at first because she's a bully.

Actually, the only time they were on the same side was when they went against the hunters in TTC.

Athena usually went with Apollo, Poseidon and Hermes. While Ares was with the remaining cabins.

I don't want to sound like a smart ass, it's just fresh in my mind since I just read it. :)

Whoa, I did not notice this! (Or it wasn't on the Aussie edition, I shall have to check ... ). I though Rick only named his books after he'd written them though?

Didn't we hear somewhere (can't remember where) that the POVs would be changing? So yes, here's hoping for Percy and Annabeth POVs in Book 2! It would only make sense, obviously, if Book 2 is largely about finding Percy/life at Camp Purple.

If RR just gives us a big mindfuck over this, I will not be happy.

If RR gives us a big mindfuck but includes Percy's POV, I'll be content.

If RR doesn't give us a mindfuck and includes Percy's POV, I'll be a gleeful fangirl.

Okay, I'm going to stop using the word mindfuck. But if we don't see Percy again, I'm going to seriously consider quitting reading the books ... and then buy it on the day it comes out again as a puddle of fangirlish raeg/glee.
