The dear unknown_poet has us over almost weekly to watch the Showtime series The Tudors, which covers the life and wives of Henry VII. The politics are downright Machiavellian, which is somewhat ironic, give that "The Prince," by Machiavelli himself, came out during Henry's reign

I'm not sure you used ironic correctly. Unless of course you were going for irony by calling something ironic which clearly isn't... wheels within wheels... it's no surprise, after all, that Machievellian politics ruled the day when Machievelli wrote The Prince (which is an interesting read, btw).

Kingdom of Heaven... King Baldwin and Saladin were so fscking awesome in that.
