Twink took Yoric clothes shopping. For business clothes. She apparently absorbed the Men's Warehouse website and then dragged him there. They got home late, so he showed me one of the outfits this mroning, and hot damn, he's wearing shoes!! Real shoes! Like, with a heel and laces and everything! Not sandals, not barefeet, with SOCKS even, dress ( Read more... )

The Men's Wearhouse is an EXCELLENT place to shop. I bought my suit there, and so did Steve, and we both look spectacular according to trustworthy sources. For my job hunting, I just went and got more shirts and dress shoes. It's a great place to go get good quality dress clothes.

I would be hurt too, if my mate went off shopping for something like that--for the first suit, for job-hunting, when you had previously expressed an interest, and when money is tight. Ouch.

I hope you talk about this with them. Something else that might be interesting (from a self-awareness perspective) is exploring why you feel stupid, righteous and ridiculous about the same event.

Keep in mind that there may be things you do with Yoric that Twink misses out on, too.

On the bright side--he looks SPIFFY!

Thanks for validating me; I was feeling ridiculous.

Still am, to some extent. But I think I was pouting. It's better now, thought I do need to bring up that I WAS hurt. Kind of hard to work into a coversation, though. "What do you want for dinner? And by the way, I was hurt that you guys went shopping without me." I suppose there's no reason I COULDN'T say it like that.

Gah.

I hate talking about my emotions. Makes me feel like I'm in hippie-new-age class, trying to get in touch with my inner self.

Another possible response, which I don't recommend, is to hide your unexpressed anger and store it deep inside of yourself and keep it from harming anyone--except yourself. Expect to develop an ulcer in a few years, or to blow up about some trivial thing in the future ( ... )

"You DO own a tie-dye shirt, don't you? Embrace your inner hippy child. :-)"

Actually, I own no tie-dye whatsoever.

Thanks for your thoughts, they are appreciated.
