Most of you are no doubt aware that I absolutely love to cook.  If I hadn't gone into science, I'd probably have become a chef.

So there's all sorts of culinary reasons for me to be totally thrilled to have  a gas stove in the kitchen of my current house.  But you want to know what's my favorite part about having a gas range?

I have long sung the praises of gas stoves, but I have never tried this. Shameful, shameful!

Honest? I tried that before...it gives the marshmallows a funky smell and aftertaste. Wasn't impressed. (but I am a marshmallow snob, so...:P )

I love gas stove tops, but prefer electric ovens. That combination starts at $1500. So I will continue to tool along with the stove I have.

I'm not much of a marshmallow roaster, but a real wood fire is the only way to do it. I can to that in my family room.
