Right Mundungus. Hadn't thought about him. That would be another quest for Harry to have to go on. Or maybe the locket is one of those things Kreacher took to his lair for safe keeping. Though the fact that it's not acutally a Black family heirloom probably means he didn't.

There are so many theories out there and I'm POSITIvE that it's him, but that seems to be the overwhelming opinion and JKR doesn't like following the overwhelming opinion. Even if she did say it's someone we've seen before.

She doesn't it's true. But she can't (or I would think she wouldn't since I figure she's got book seven all worked out already) change the story just 'cause people figured it out. And it just makes so much sense for it to be Regulus. Plus then maybe we get to see pensieve!Regulus or something.
