!!!!!!!!!! This becomes more sensemaking, having seen Dead Man's Blood and Dean's expressions after the telling-off from Papa Winchester. And it is love, it's the only thing that's never left him, so no wonder the Impala has become something Other.

Oh, this was wonderful. I particularly loved that first paragraph; beautifully written and I love how he tunes everything else out as soon as he hears her. And his impatience to be her driver, pretending to sleep as he watches John. That's a lovely image.
