So according to the Evening Standard Labour were talking about scrapping the postal vote over a year ago but they're only going to rush through the legislation after the election because it'll increase their voting majority ( Read more... )

That, if I might say so, is a very cynical point of view, suggesting (in effect) that Labour are prepared to cheat the electorate, and to govern (or attempt to govern) without a legitimate mandate.

Cynical, but I'm far from convinced it's without merit. Labour has deliberately refused to take account of the objections of other parties, and of the independent Electoral Commission. Seven people were convicted of electoral fraud last week. The Labour party stands accused of manipulating the vote right across Mercia's first city. And in Blackburn. And Reading.

Labour's spokesman puts on a brave face, claiming that there's "very little" fraud to do with postal ballots. I for one wouldn't care to experience a lot of fraud.

I am one of the people this party wants to stamp out.

I'm not convinced they want to stamp you out so much as reduce your circumstances by a non-trivial amount.
