Most of the time I love my job helping seniors, the flexible schedual is great for a student, pay is not bad, and I feel like I am doing something worthwhile. But sometimes certian people make me want to scream, mostly family members of some of my clients ( Read more... )

hey, i left a comment on ur c_s entry, but i wanted to say something to u here too.

it sucks when those incident happen, it is scary and upseting and can be really really hard to handle. and they won't stop happening.

BUT you will get better at handling them. they won't get any less scary/upsetting etc but it will get slightly easier.

and, like i said, it shows you care that you get upset. you care about these people and don't want to see them in a state. this is good thing. don't loose it.

Thank you. Part of the issue is that I am not a medical professional, I'm not even a medical student. Mostly I'm a glorifyed gofer, who's had a very, very, good background check and some training on helping with common issues the elderly face.

:) tbh, it ain't much better when ur a student. they can teach u all the theory in the world n u still freak out when u go into a clinical area n get stuff like this.

I can see that happining.

Thank you for your comment though, I'v had a difficult month (work and life) andthe sheer anger in some of the comments really had me doubting myself even though my superiors at work, (who have various degrees) told me I did everything right at the time.
