A brief rant, a question, and some fic.

Ok, rant first. Now I love my grandma's cooking, and I enjoy being invited over for any meal. But after I have just made a pig of myself with her home made pancakes, it is upsetting to hear that she was able to use up some milk that had soured, by putting it in the pancakes I just ate. Really,I did not need or want to know that ( Read more... )

Thank you! And I've been plotting this chapter for months, Penny is going to be a reacuring character throughout this story. But it's hard to give Vlad a cat and keep him in character, so if he seems OOC please tell me.

MMMMM..... PANCAKES palm_tree_04 September 18 2006, 06:18:23 UTC
I can understand how you feel about the spoiled milk, there is nothing like eating a really good meal then finding out what the meal really was, (manudo, barbacoa, langua) If that is not spelled right i'm sorry. All I really want to know if it is good and if i'm not going to feel well after I know what I just ate then please don't tell me

^^6 Yeah, got a point there. I'm the hypochondriac in our family, so I only trust that recooking something /really/ worked if I know exactly what got recooked and how long it'd been there.

*blinks* Okay, now /that's/ interesting. I've noticed that we odd ones tend to attract each other, but it doesn't happen to me on sight. That last one sounds just a tad suspicious, though.

*snickers* And I still love Penny. Though I probably shouldn't be quite so gleeful about Jazz grinning evilly...right?
Ah, what the heck, she's doing it at Vlad. Where's the popcorn? =D

Well, the recipe does call for buttermilk or soured milk. But I really think it means something like runny yogurt or sourcream, not been-in-the-fridge-too-long milk.

I have no problem with people whoare just somewhat odd, weird, or different. But when people start being creepy-weird, it can get rather disturbing. For example, wanting to discuss the posibility of aliens being out there? Cool. Putting on an impromptue magic show? Really cool. A good magic show? One that pulls in and involves random people? Oh yeah, that's fantastic! But wanting to describe all the details of your abduction by aliens?Loudly, and with lots of enthuseastic gestures? Not cool at all.

^^6 Oh dear.
Nope, haven't encountered /that/; dunno, maybe it's because I'm either very introverted-seeming (or at least I used to me...I know I left my sanity around here somewhere) or crazy enough to scare the pushy people off. I don't appear to have a middle setting. Not sure if I should try to do something about that...

Normaly I'm pretty much ignored,I can be almost invisible at times. But my current job is sales, so I have to attract some attention, just some is weirder than others. Most of the time it's fun, I enjoyed discussing politics with the nun last week. I didn't mind reading an ingreadents list to that saffron-robed monk, even if I had to carefully explain things to the little boy who was his interpreter (The monk didn't speak English, and the little boy didn't speak much English) And the unexpected magic show was great! I mean really impressive! But sometimes things get a little too strange for me.
