Have the Green Party in the UK expired? Maybe all the fumes from exhausts are putting you into a coma?
Why are there so few candidates?
Why no strong sense of direction???
The future is there for you, shining and bright,
so go get it! And help others to realise their dreams / aspirations for a Green world.
Come on now!

I thought they were all saving energy by hibernating, it's Winter dontcha(sic) know.

As for Exhaust fumes, come on, I've not seen any driver related smog for 20 odd years.

And help others to realise their dreams / aspirations for a Green world.

I'm sure that the powers that be are doing their utmost to kill off a whole generation or two in this cold snap, That'll help won't it?

Take a look at China for example, for smog related problems - don't you remember the fiasco prior to the Olympic games? Government tried to ban number of vehicles to try and reduce the smog... People have to wear masks. In Japan they have oxygen bars to help pedestrians...

Benzene has tiny particles that go deep into lungs. Established by UK doctors in 1990's benzene causing many bad lung conditions incl. asthma.

Sad so many joggers run alongside roads, breathing fumes in deep, thinking they're getting healthy.

Carcinogenic carbon soot deposits everywhere from exhausts...

Not realistic to capture carbon... as suggested by Mrs Thatcher's "expert"...

And is it not true that Benzine is in Unleaded at a greater quantity than it was in leaded fuel?

I did spend a day or two riding around London on a motorcycle back when we had real nasty exhaust related problems, didn't see any deaths due to that, I also remember pre-cat-convertors, getting the same fuel economy as todays "Modern" cars do, Bring back 4 star, hell leaded paint on kiddie toys too, never did us any harm ;)

re: Your ride in London:
That's cos most deaths occur in hospital (not on the streets).

Go back to old Guiness Book of Records and check out how many miles they could do per gallon / compare that figure to last G. Bush target. Ludicrous - we had the technology 30 - 40 years ago to make cars that conserve fuel - doubtless deliberately not used to increase tax sales.

And now we're heading for peak-oil, global warming - thanks to profit maximisation...

So whilst half the planet is intoxicated one way or another, what are the remaining ones with a few brain cells planning to do to help save the planet?

Drive 5 miles less a day and switch off the lights! But keep advertising signs for greedy, polluting multi-nationals blazing.
This world is crazy.

I'm of the understanding we'll be fielding a record number of candidates in the next General Election (providing it's not before May 6th).

Sense of direction is always there, it depends on our success though.

If we get Brighton Pavilion and a hung parliament, it will be a turning point. Caroline could even be in Government in 6 months. And then hopefully PR, and we're set.

Thanks for responding.
I think the Green's message is unclear - what is proposed - why needed - how to achieve Green living. Also that every week newspapers / mass media should be featuring the new Green future, highlighting the many benefits, before the election.
I believe the UK Green Party has a poor image suggesting you advocate higher taxes, and increased fuel costs.
That is holding you back - stopping you getting votes.

Your new message should be the Green Party will lower taxes, stop new nuclear power stations being built, invest in clean, safe, free energy from renewable sources
see: http://community.livejournal.com/peak_oil/801384.html
and new transport that does not combust / fossil fuel.

The UK needs the Green Party to make green living real!
Please don't disappoint all the people who want to vote Green.

I know you have a shortage of candidates. There isn't one in my area, so I can't vote Green. Replicate that across the country and what have we got?
Failure!

Now, I'd have had a Turbine up by now, even on my rented home, but sure as hell I'm not going to spend £200+ to my local bunch of "elected" fraudsters each time they wish to reject my plans to do so.

Free Planning apps for Green projects, and a candidate in my area would at least show willing... oh, and a promise that future manifesto Lies must be given in the form of an affidavit and individual members of the party responsible can then be taken to court for failure to fulfill!
