The smell of cigarettes can change completely when in different company. I'm always walking past those loiterers who suck on cigs like their life depended on it outside of my dorm and the smell is hardly appealing. Certain brands of cigarettes take me back to days when my older brother and his punk rock friends would let me tag along with them on their excursions to Chicago to see nasty, fast, loud, rock and roll. I would be nervous in the back seat, hoping the driver wouldn't take his pants off again / hoping he would and sipping my soda, being in awe with simply everything.

Smell, for me, is without a doubt the strongest sense tied to memory.
