The sedimental age of fabric

Wow, I'm tidying up the house, I'm impressing myself. It started because we got some flour mites, highly probably from the store we bought flour (guess who's going to find a new flour provider ?) some months ago. We got pretty much rid of all the ones in the pantry, but one of the bastards managed to lay eggs under a statue near the hearth and some ( Read more... )

On parle bien du gros truc trop mignon que t'appelle un bébé ? Je suis pas sûre sûre sûre qu'avec un mètre on arrive à lui couvrir les fesses, mais je dis ça, je dis rien...

You have my sympathies! A few years ago, we had moth larvae (food eating moths not wool eating moths) in some bird food we bought. One day I noticed that there were maggots crawling up the walls. And let me tell you, maggots from moths are no less gross than maggots from flies. I could have died! Thankfully, the bird food was in the utility room where we stored staples like pasta/flour/dog food and none got into the actual kitchen. But we had to do the same and just go through everything everywhere and find where they had gone. It took us a few months to finally feel satisfied that we had gotten them all.

Food moths, yeah, that must be the right term ! Thanks !
Yeah, they're pretty much a nightmare. We discovered them about two months ago but it seems some eggs remained. I find myself compulsively checking the wall near the hearth because every day for three days in a row I've found some yucky worm climbing up there... :( Nothing today so far, and I've checked evry few hours, so I guess I really got them out. We now have traps but they only work for the moth themselves, AFTER they have hatched...
