rly? That sounds way too democratic to work here, and hell, how would the politicians get their kick-backs from that sort of system?

well, Magna Carta, votes for working men , votes for women - they were all won in spite of official opposition.
there may be bloodshed, but we ought to fight for it if it is important to us.

Just a minor point -- America is so freaking huge and diverse that it seems no matter how you change the government (bigger or smaller, more power to people, less power) there will still be a substantial number of people out in the cold ( ... )
